School Uniform
At St Peter’s Independent School, the uniform is a source of pride and a builder of community. By choosing to attend St Peter’s, students and their parents have made a serious and long-term commitment to comply with the school uniform code. In addition, we are committed to maintaining standards of modesty, neatness, cleanliness and good taste, which reflect the Christian ideals on which the school was founded.
The wearing of a school uniform also contributes to the creation of a safe school environment.
Our policy is based on the notion that a school uniform:
- promotes a sense of pride in the school;
- engenders a feeling of community and belonging;
- is practical and smart;
- identifies the children with the school;
- is not distracting in class (as fashion clothes might be);
- makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance;
- is regarded as suitable, and good value for money, by most parents;
- has been designed with health and safety in mind.
A uniform list is provided with the Parents Handbook or can be issued from the School Office.
